telescoping dolly like schroeder option

Sign in to disble this ad
has anyone seen where to buy dollies similar to the ones Jorg offers with his cabs ?

I'd like to add one to a cab I have.

I've seen something similar but does not appear to be as sturdy as the ones he's offering.
Thanks
Steve

I think I've seen 'em somewhere like Parts Express. But frankly, anything that actually needs wheels needs bigger wheels than what I recall - those'd get hung up on mouse droppings.

Penn-Elcom H4515 is sold by an eBay store:

Also, I think Mesa Boogie sells the same thing as an amp accessory, and their price seems competitive. I have been gassing for one of these.

Ah, yeah - that was like the one I saw high-centered on a candy bar wrapper ; }

Sure wouldn't work around here. You'd be lifting the equipment more than rolling it.

Point well taken.

I carry my amp in a thing called a "pack n roll" with similar sized wheels and ground clearance. I simply slide it up and down curbs. But the "pack n roll" is also only 20 bucks, so it's practically disposable. And I imagine that this technique would be unworkable with an amp weighing much more than 40 pounds.

those options don't look bad, they are similar, but don't look like they'd handle the 100lbs that Jorg's are rated for.

It does look like the Schroeder dolly is more robust.

Sorry for opening up and old thread, but did someone fix this w/o using Jorg´s telescopic dolly?

I´m having a 410L and according to Jorg , his trolley doesn´t fit on this model.

Would be fine to have something to replace it with.

I've tried it before robbing hardware off of old airplane luggage bags etc. My experience, they're ok for a small light cab like a neo 112 or something but too weak, don't hold up on anything much bigger than that. At least not if you use it, take it a lot of places, etc. For my next trick, I may take a folding dolly and mount the handle portion to the back of a cab. They're built a good bit heavier duty than the airplane luggage thing.

Yes, bigger wheels are important. At least if not more important is having them mounted so the cab balances well while you're dragging it. If it really wants to tip one way or the other it puts a lot of stress on the handle and also makes the transport not nearly as convenient as it should be. A lot of times this means I notch out the bottom back corners in my cabs and build a bit of an angle there for the wheel to mount to so it balances right when it's tipped back.

Also measure a lot from all directions and make sure you get both wheels mounted straight. If you've got one straight but the other wants to take a bit of a left hook the cab will start rocking side to side when you're pulling it and if you keep going, it could dump over on it's side and you have to set it upright and start over.

Don't ask me how I know that.
