Tell me about the Acoustic 450 and 612 cab

I got a good feeling about an Acoustic 450 W/ Matching Cab.

I have played through some acoustic control rigs but not the 450, let alone a 6X12 Cab.

What should I expect in terms of Volume and Tone.

Thanks!

General purpose amp, guitar speaker cabinet.

I don't think it will get low or loud, at least with a bass.

.... but i'd buy it if the price was right regardless.

That's what I reckoned...

Perhaps with the proper cab(s) I could get some decent low end. I'm intrigued by the head, due to all of its features. I've read tht it makes a SICK guitar amp as well.

I should be able to sell the cab for what i'm paying for the full rig.

The new generation of doom kids have the bigger is better mentality, and will eat this guy up...

Those old Acoustics are old-schooly, but if you can deal with that sound, they are great. I've had several (including a 450 for a while) and love them. It does indeed work well for guitar.

That 6x12 is indeed a guitar cabinet. Look for an Acoustic 406 cabinet to go with it. (It's a ported 2x15 cab.)

Old school is "my" sound. I believe this guy could work out perfectly for me. The one thing i'm worried about is the usable volume level. I know that Acoustics are rated very conservatively, but it is still pretty low. I love some grit in my tone too, but, I also like a semi clean tone when needed.

I have a Mesa 215 I can borrow to give it a try, So I may just give 'er a go!

i think that the head would be really good for bass, but the 6x12 cab won't sound good or last very long if you push them at all.

The 450 Acoustic head can have lots of volume with the right cab. As Chuck said, that 6-12 cab is not a bass cab. The 406 he mentioned, along with a 106 Acoustic as well as an Ampeg 1540 (1-15 with 4-10s) work well with the 450 head, speaking from personal experience.
