Tell Me which Speaker to use here...

For Bass, I am going to be useing an old tube 100 watt Acoustic amp 1x12 Combo ( yup, the same company that made the famous solid state Bass amps) . Of course, the guitar speaker in there is a EV12L and I guess it needs to go?
What would be a good 12" bass speaker to put in that old Tube 4x6l6 100 watt amp?

Throw it away; or figure out how to close it up nicely

Ya, openback and bass don't go together. Try to get appreciable volume out of it and it'll come apart. I'd seal up the back. 12L's are worth good money, I wouldn't risk damaging it because it'll likely fund whatever bass speaker you come up with with a little $ leftover. I'd consider get 2 bass speakers and building or buying a 112 ext. cab too. Takes more to get to gig volume than it does with a guitar.

You can't really seal the back of a tube combo 'cos the tube need to have air flow to cool them. The unit is no good for bass, your best bet would be sell the Acoustic and buy something that is.
