what do you know? she might be subbing in that gig and she doesn't know all the songs/lyrics.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I heard this **** so many times! Most of my gig are subbing which means I have to get some 'kind' of charts and be sure I'm right on with my notes so the band will still sound as good as possible, consequently I play very often with music stand because I don't have enough time to memorize the songs, is this unprofessional?

Talking about what the OP says, how easy is to talk down/bad about things without knowing what's behind it!

Done, back on topic:

I'm endorsed with GB and I'm not only in love with their gear, but I'm enthusiastic about their customer service and friendly vibe everytime I talk with them!

Thank you Genz Benz

I just emailed them a couple weeks ago as my tube in the NEOx400 1-12 combo (which is badass) seemed the tube minght be going. I asked them about it and they gave me the info I needed especially which tube is in it to replace and I could get from them or get online or at local store if they had it. Wasn't even trying to be secret or propitary and make me buy from them. BTW It was Jeff himself that was corresponding with me. Class act.

Yes it is.
If you are not ready for a performance you shouldn't be doing it.
If you go to a restaurant would it be okay if the chef was reading off a recipe book?

As a small business owner, myself, it's great when you find a company that gets it right. Customers matter. Here some other vendors that I have had similarly positive experiences with, if anyone cares:

Euphonic Audio
Fodera
Zon
D R strings

These companies responded quickly and effectively to my requests for help. Whether the issue was big or small, they all made me feel like I, as a customer and a person, was important and mattered.

Thanks for the kind complemants.

We try to put ourselves into the shoes of the customer and treat them as we would like to be treated. It's not that hard, really.

I also appreciate when other companies in our industry step up to the plate to help and support the customer, it really does shine positively on all of us that take customer service seriously.

Nothing wrong with using a stand. I've seen Bill Frisell use a music stand on a gig. Ever gone to see a symphony orchestra?

I bet if a chef had never worked in that particular kitchen on the night he was cooking he'd be looking at the recipe.

This is bull! Many pros use music stands to read if they need to. Ever watch Will Lee? Guy uses a stand just about every time he plays for the guest artist. It takes a pro to be able to play "on the fly" . Only those who CAN'T read put down music stands or come up with some ignorant story about not being prepared.

here's another Genz Benz pic - my rig for a once-a-month jazz gig that can't accomodate the upright - fretless 1978 P into an EBS Dynaverb into the same Shuttle 3.0-10T as in the Keegan Ales pic, without PA support -

as for the stand business - she was awesome that night and blew the crowd away. I don't think the stand was on anyone's radar screen.

I have the Streamliner 600 I just got yesterday and love it.
You will no doubt love the 900.

Another Ampeg guy who's all GB now. I just got the streamliner 900 to go with my Uber 212 - I am happy as anything with the incredible tones I'm getting. I've tried all types of settings and they all sound great - makes me wish for a 2 channel streamliner, but I would probably get a shuttle for variety. The streamliner is my tone though.

I have really enjoyed my ShuttleMax 12.0. As I wanted to keep an amp in the rehearsal room, I have the 12.0 there and am using a 12.2 for gigs.

For daily practice, I have a Shuttle 3.0-10T at my left and a Gibson SG at my right.

Life is good!

That's funny, because my Shuttle 9.0 kept going into thermal protect as soon as I'd turn it on (it was only a month old). I called them about 3 times before I got my RA (took about a week) and was then told I had to pay shipping out of my own pocket to return the head. I shipped it (and ended up paying quite a bit for shipping it) and sent them an email with the tracking number and asked them if they'd ship the replacement before or upon receiving my head, as I have some shows coming up that I'd like to have the Shuttle 9.0 to play. That was a week and a half ago and I still haven't heard back. According to UPS, Genz Benz should've gotten the head last Wednesday, so I guess I'm going to call tomorrow from work to see if they actually got it and/or are going to be sending me a replacement / fixing it. I would've called last week, but I've been getting out of work at about 8PM lately (oh, the fun of being in the military).

I've read several posts about Genz Benz having excellent support, but this process has kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. I love the Shuttle 9.0, but I don't really feel like I've been getting treated as well as the other folks on this forum have been treated.
