THD Univalve as amp/preamp?

Has anyone tried it? As it can take many different tubes it should sound good as a practice amp, or for recording. And as it has a power soak it can be used as a preamp into a light weight bass head for bigger gigs. Would there be any reason for this not to work great? (In my case the amp would be used 95% at home and for recording.)

I'd be very wary of assuming the inbuilt power soak will let you drive another amp with the attenuated speaker signal. More input required on that for sure.

The EQ is set up for guitar so it may or may not do so well on bass. ymmv, all that jazz, rock out.
