I went to sweetwater on Friday, if you ever get a chance go there, very cool store. Stopped in to buy a backup head and to try out a tc rh450. So I decided to play the heads I was looking at through a trace elliot 410 cab.
Wow what a great sounding cab. I have never really looked at trace Elliot before and had never played through one. I was very impressed.
I don't really hear to much about trace Elliot stuff here and was just wondering if any one else uses their stuff or if there are any opinions on it.

Which head did you end up with? I play through a pair of Trace Elliot cabinets. I love the way they sound. I have a 2x10 (1028H) and 1x15 (1518C). I changed from a 4x10 to this rig as it was easier to carry around due to lighter individual cabinets and the sound was amazing.
I hope you enjoyed your time here!

I ran it beside a Crate 4X10 with a two channel Crate amp at something like 440 watts... Despite living in a relatively rural area, the police did end being called a time or two. ;-) |

Yep... 2x15 + 4x10 + 4x5 (bright box) + 500W
The expression says it all... |

I'm not usually into the hi-fi solid state sparkle tone, but man these cabs (and heads) just ripped! I think the "flavor of the week" brands of the 90s (SWR, GK, Trace Elliot) have the solid state thing down and are really worth checking out. The Trace Elliot tone is not my favorite (I'm a GK guy) but if I had to pick a #2, I'd say it's a tie between Trace and SWR.

Dan | I ended up buying a gk mb200 for a simple backup amp, but not sure if it i am going to keep it or not. I played through a tc electronics classic 450 and the Trace Elliot 410 cab. In all my searching for an amp this was the best sounding combination of everything I have played over the last few years. The cab was so smooth and wonderful and paired with that head I was really pleased.
As I stated before to anyone in the area if you ever get a chance stop at Sweetwater. It is the best music store I have ever been to, and the sales staff was great. You won't find an American made Lakland hanging on the wall of your local guitar center. If it is in their warehouse and for sale, they will get it for you to play on.

I bought my Markbass combo because the old Trace is just too heavy for me and my old back these days. I can't say that the Markbass sounds any better, but it sure is lighter.
