Thinking Of Downsizing
I'm dragging a GBE 100-115T combo to practices and small jobs, and doing the bigger jobs with a GBE 600 head and an Avatar TB153 and/or an Avatar 1510 cab(s) for the bigger shows.
The combo (67 lbs.) almost pulled me down a flight of stairs to my death a few weeks ago, so downsizing comes to mind.
I know I could just get a smaller practice amp and do all my jobs with the other gear, but on-line research has led to options.
Either a Markbass Mini CMD 121P with a New York 121 cab, or a Carvin MB 15 with an MB115 cab seem to offer options to replace all my current gear.
I'm playing 60s and 70s rock, with no slapping. I'd like to sound more like Jamerson than Flea.
Would either the Carvin Or Markbass set-up replace the gear I currently have with a minimal drop-off? Which set-up would you recommend? (Cost may not be an obstacle.)
