Third party case/bag for Genz Benz Shuttle 9?

Sign in to disble this ad
Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not...but seems like the right/best spot. Mods: feel free to move if not.

Shuttle 9.0 is in transit to me now, but the dealer is out of stock on bags for several weeks. Looking for a decent third party stand-in or replacement bag. Suggestions?

I found this but at $70, pricey and a bit too large (assuming GC specs are interior):

Genz Benz web site says the 9.0 is 2.5" x 10" x 10.5"

Other ideas?

You could get a laptop bag at Wal Mart or some other chainstore's version . My LMII fits in one and it also has room for all my cords and small stuff . It's well padded and very light and has a shoulder strap and was under $50 . I've had it a couple of years and it works great . I'd bet your 9.0 would fit in one fine , you don't have to use a bass or music specific bag . Here's a picture of my small rig with the bag .

I've had an American Tourist Laptop back lying around my house for months, and after reading this post, I literally RAN upstairs to go see if my Shuttle 9 fits in there. Voila! Two quarter inch instrument cables, 1 Neutrix speakon, Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0, the power chord, Boss Chorus Bass Pedal, Tuner Pedal, Patch cable, and guitar polish in ONE bag! (All under 10 pounds)

Thank you so much for your post.

That bag does look cool for the purpose -- and yes, pricey -- but consider yourself warned: Our household has experience with three GigSkinz bags, and they are absolute shite, quality-wise. One was sent back to the company (Road Ready? Like the rack cases?) at considerable expense (about $35 to ship), and it took them more than two months to send a replacement. We have that replacement, and another 76-key case we bought on craisglist for $25 that's barely usable, and that's enough for us. The 76-key case, like the one we sent back, suffered from a complete deterioration of the plastic sewn inside to stiffen the sides; it literally crumbled to the touch. The CS person didn't sound at all surprised when I inquired about a replacement.

I have a hideous hunt-dog-training bag that I use for a gig bag; holds all pedals, wireless, cords etc., and my Shuttle fits nicely in the middle.

It's ugly as hell, but I like the fact that it sticks out in a club, maybe someone's less likely to walk off with it.

I have my Shuttle 9.0 mounted in a 2RU Gator rack bag. I had to get the rack ears kit for the GB but it works like a treat, front pocket is big enough for leads, tuner etc etc.. Shoulder strap is a big plus. I can shlep my entire rig in one go (also have a mono gig bag).
