hi kids,in a world of so so customer care i gotta say i have just been blown away by the service i got from thomanns.just about two weeks ago my mesa ph 1x15 had a problem, i poped the speaker out and isolated the problem to a tinsle wire. i informed thomanns that i had a problem AND that i had opened the gab up, they said NO PROBLEM, sent me a return label, instructions on how to pack the cab and the UPS direct contact No. now ten days on i have my cab back with a new speaker. maybe all the time i have spent in countries where CS is not efficiant has got me to expect less than good service but i am impressed with thomanns. ok. i just thought i would share a bit of positivity.
They are extraordinary. I bought multiple things from them, one of them an Ibanez SG 1200. Although workmanship on that bass is excellent, one of the output jacks had a soldering issue. They told me that I could either ship it back to them and they'd take care of it or, if I wanted to, I could have it fixed locally, and that wouldn't void the warranty. They even offered to pay for whatever that cost, even if I didn't send them a receipt.
Since then I purchased an electric drum kit from them, a pair of Vox aMPhones Bass (the kind with the preamp you can plug to the bass directly), a mic stand, cables...a whole bunch of stuff, which even when shipped internationally (from Germany to Switzerland), gets here within 3 or 4 days.
Gotta love Thomann. :)
hi ferK. when i first ordered this cab, the order went in on a monday evening and it was at my door thursday evening, and i am in the middle of nowhere in spain!!!!!good guys.
If only they wouldn't use the biggest boxes known to mankind to ship tiny things :D There are a few musicians here in our office and everytime someone gets a new shipping from Thomann which barely fits through the door someone asks "Hey, ordered a new set of strings?". Sometimes it's really crazy :-)
I order a lot of stuff from thomann. Nothing but positive feedback.
About the big boxes. I think they use such a big boxes to protect the items. I prefer it,
Yes, I have also ordered a lot of stuff from them. They DO have some low quality, low price items, but if something breaks they have great customer service. I once ordered a mic stand which had a plastic part that broke almost immediately.
All they needed was a picture of the broken part, and I didn't even have to return the stand (it would not be cost effective for them). They also gave me the choice of a full refund or a new stand. When I suggested that I paid the difference to a more solid stand, they agreed, and I didn't have to pay shipping or anything for it except that difference. Smooth.
All that said, I think you'll have the best experience with thomann if you do your research on those cheap items. They sometimes have a lower quality than you are likely to accept.
I think they know that good service means a returning customer. :)
About the box sizes, I think they have only a limited set of different sizes. I guess that is to keep cost down as well.
I like em. Stellar customer and warranty service, unburdened by the fact that they're a mammoth of a company.
Bought a LH500 from them earlier this year - it crapped out, so I sent it out with a return label and it took them maybe a weekend to fix it and send it back.
I've recently discovered Thommann, since moving to Europe. I've ordered from them twice as well as several phone calls asking questions about products I'm interested in.
They are always very helpful and friendly.
I asked them once about a Behringer bass head (180w) that was on sale for 99 Euro. I asked the CS rep "are these good quality?". His response "No, not really". HAHAHA. His honesty made me a fan.
I have nothing but good things to say about Thomann.
I've ordered a buch of small things like in-ear stuff, music stands, cables, plugs and so on.
Always super fast, usually not more than a day (within Germany) and they even accepted an order although it was under their minimum (which is 25 Euros I think).
Yes, Thomann is great.
I once ordered some speaker from them and in just a few days it was at my home (in the Netherlands).
