For those with variable L pads & 6" mids?

I've already read about how L pads can be a weak link in the chain.

But my question is: As you turn the variable L pad resistor up and down how does it affect the x-over frequency?

If you turn it up does the x-over point get higher, or the opposite?

It doesn't, that's the reason why an LPad, as opposed to a potentiometer, must be used.

I think there actually can be some effect on the crossover frequency with those variable Lpads, but I can't recall specifics. I think it varies heavily based on the impedance of the driver, the amount of power, and the way the crossover is designed. Sorry that's totally unspecific.
