Thoughts on the Orange CRUSH Pix series [the 100watt 4-band EQ specifically]

Hey guys, I've been playing with the idea of getting a new amp, and bieng the Orange amps fanboy that I am, I went ahead and looked at their Terror head and other stuff, and came to the realization that as cool as it would be to have a $3000 Amp setup, I can really only afford $500 on an amp, $800 if I stretch it and ditch some other stuff I wanted to get. [pedals]

Also, looking carefully at the stuff I have [30 watt practice amp and 75 watt gig amp, both solid-state] I discovered that I don't really need some 5000watts of power, so right as I was about to dismiss getting an Orange amp as way too much money for unneeded power and glass tubes, I found this:

http://www.humbuckermusic.com/orcrpix100wa1.html

this is beginning to look like just what I need, 100 watts, 4-Band EQ, and a line-out to plug in to more powerful stuff later on.

My question is what do you guys think of this amp?
Has anyone used it before?
How does it compare to the other orange amps systems? [keeping in mind that for me to use the combo is 3x as much and the full tube amp would be 6x as much]

Also, does anyone know of some cheaper tube amps or tube/SS amps? Or do you lose too much quality for a cheap tube amp system to be worth it?

I'm curious too. I'd like to know how much it weighs - can't find that anywhere.

MEEE TOOO!!! I'm thinking the 50 watt would be enough, but i like the additional headroom of the 100 watts, plus.. it looks way sexier

I need to sell some other stuff, and then hopefully I'll get the 100 Watter. I'll let you know how much i love it :-D

BTW, why doesn't Musician's Friend carry the 100 watter?!

Well I ended up getting the 50 watter & I'm really glad I did. It's an awesome amp, great low end and awesome highs. Would recommend to anyone in the market for a high quality practice amp which can get loud enough for small gigs as well. Attached are some pics..

I have heard good things about those amps...but if it were me I would save up for the tiny terror head. You never know when you are gonna need those extra 400 watts!

I have played on one in a store and I am really considering it now... the 100 watt that is. I enjoyed the tone and eq worked well. I did find it will break up a little bit at high volume and high gain settings which I liked but this particular cabs grill vibrated like crazy whenever I pushed it thou. maybe it was just this one cab. anybody else experiencing this?
