thunderfunk-which screws to open case?

Sign in to disble this ad
Which screws open the case ( I want to clean a scratchy pot)

8 screws along the top of the case? (4 in front, 4 in back)

or 4 large screws on outermost edge on bottom? ( 2 each on left and right edges) please don't speculate, let me know if you've done it

Thanks!

All twelve. I took the hood off of my 420 to install a socket and a gold chip. My 550 has the same case and has the screw pattern you describe.

I believe you then have to apply a good amount of force to bend the case and get it off the guts.

Indeed. Getting the screws off is only *half* the job
