Sign in to disble this ad
I turned on my Acoustic B200 head today and barely any sound came out of it and a ticking sound goes off every time I make a sound.

Any ideas on what it might me?

the ticking sound could be a protection relay going on and off, or a bad thermal sensor. if you are sure your speaker cable and speaker are ok by trying them in another amp, i would take it to a repair shop.

Is this the 'touch the metal on the bass' clicking sound or something that rides along with every note you hit?

Not sure - but my B-450 and B-600H have multiple speeds on the cooling fans and there isn't any time I've ever gotten them hot enough to actually thermal-out, so I can't say I've ever had any overload or thermal devices cutting in-out on me.

There might be this first time though. Something new every day I guess.
