Tilt back 2x10 cabinet?

Sign in to disble this ad
As I've posted here before, I'm trying to decide on a lightweight cabinet to go with my Markbass Little Mark III head. I going to be playing in a blues band in smaller rooms so I think a 2x10 will be enough. I'm looking at the GK Neo tilt back 2x10 so I will be able to hear myself better.

Any opinions of tilt back vs regular 2x10 cabinets? Thanks!

Tilting back is a good idea, but you can do it with pretty much any cabinet by adding legs, getting a stand, etc. Get the cabinet you like the sound of -- if it has a built in mechanism, bonus!

When I run just one of my Avatar 210 Neo cabs I set it vertical with a 3-1/2" piece of black painted stryofoam under the front edge tilting it up.
Did that last night, works great for me, cheap too!

I've read several posts on tilt-back cabs. Only issue is an initial one of keeping the head from sliding off. Once everyone gets that taken care of, they seem to enjoy the convience of the cab. I play in a 20 piece orchestra on ocasion and I usually borrow a small tilt-back like the GK you have looked at. If I get some extra gigs someday I'll probably buy that one.

I've done it with a spring-loaded handle and 4 rubber feet. (ala EA cabs) The rubber feet keeps means you clear the handle when not tilting back. Works like a charm.
