Tilt Back?

If you had a amp without tilt back, would you get a tilt back stand? Where do you put your head then?

My Duratex-covered cab is tilted back about 30 degrees, and both my RH450 and my F1 sit on top just fine -- neither has ever slid off.

I had a tolex cab with a shuttle and it would vibrate off when the cab was tilted. I looped the speaker and power cables through the side handles and around the front corners to keep it from happening.

I'm debating on adding a tilt back to one a couple of cabs I have. But I have found that placing a 1 or 2 inch notebook under a cab works very well.

The average guitarist's pinhead also makes a great wedge.

Does it usually sound better if there is tilt back? Because if there is none, you are blasting bass into your knees right?

Yes, but the bass frequencies aren't really the problem; it's the mids and highs (that allow you hear yourself and are directional) you'll miss.

If it's a carpet covered cab, a couple strips of velcro on the bottom of the amp works. Rubber feet that are softer rubber, not really hard, grip pretty good and will stay put on some degree of angle.
