Time for a change

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I have been playing bass for 2 years, and I have a Peavey MINX 110.
Do you think that is a good time for a change ?
I'm looking for a Gallien-Krueger cab and head.
Give me your opinion.

THANKS

Consider the MB210 combo. You can add an extension cab if needed.

If you must go head/cab, the 800RB is still my fave of all G-Ks. The cab would depend on what you are looking for. I matched mine with a Peavey 1820 cab. My friend used a GK 410 cab.

My opinion? K...here goes-
> why are you looking at GK specifically?
> why a head/cab setup? ...which leads to...
> what playing situations would this rig be for?
> what tone goal do you have? and finally...
> what is your budget?
I would only think it'd be time for a change if the Minx
a) tone was no longer inspiring you, or
b) volume not allowing you to expand from accompanying acoustic players(that and practice are all it's good for IMO)
I've used a Minx with great success for coffee house(& similar) situations.

I live in Argentina, and there's no much products,
there's no much GK combos.
What amp and cab do you recommend (Ampeg, GK)?

Meaning no disrespect Lucho, but if everyone filled out their profile we would all be in a better position to offer advice. It's pointless for us to suggest equipment that may not be available in your neck of the woods.

GK make good products as do Mesa, SWR, Ampeg, Genz Benz, MarkBass - the list is almost endless. Your choice will depend on just what is available to you. What you buy depends on what YOU like among them.

Good luck in your search and don't use a signal cable as a speaker cable!
