Time for everyone's fav Q: Percieved Volume!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I know everyone hates these questions, but I'm gonna ask it anyway... Which one of these would give me a louder percieved volume and a more present bass...

Ibanez Promethean Combo (by itself) or a Shuttle 3-8t w/ matching 8t extension cab.

Aka: (250watt 1X10) vs (300watt 2X8)

i like genz benz and i hate ibanez, so i'm picking the shuttle.

seriously, i think it's a push, and with cabs that small, more than a little irrelevant.

once again, i misread the question. didn't realize you'd have an extension cab with the shuttle combo. sorry.

in that case, without a doubt, the shuttle rig will clean the ibanez combo's clock in every way.

Besides, who wants an amp called Promethean?

Neither will be very loud, because both are small-speakered, but the 2x8 should be louder than the 1x10. If you really want loud, you need 2x12 or 4x10 as a starting point.

Thanks. Not looking for a REAL rig by any means, just something small and fun to take around with me. The question of bass prsence is purely dirivative of my inherant dissatisfaction with tone but I would still ask the same questions if considerring a new 810 setup.

no doubt, but with ibanez i'm not surprised. i once called hoshino, their parent company, for a cs issue with a bass i used to have, and to this date, hoshino is the only company who ever replied with, "how did you get this number?" screw ibanez.
