titan di vs reddi

Sign in to disble this ad
for those of you who tried both, how do these compare soundwise?

between these which one is the warmest, more tubey in your opinion?

i have a titan and have found out about the reddi but do not know if should spend that much when i already have a very nice di, tube driven (from the titan).

thoughts?

What's a titan?

I've got a REDDI that sounds amazing. I got quite a few compliments on my tone last night.

Mesa Titan. Mesa's built in DI's are better than most, but a dedicated DI box is always the better choice.

forgot to mention i am not looking to the di to record myself but to use live instead... For those days when i do not want to drag the rig.

Having that said, still want to know how both compare to each other. Will the reddi be that much superior to the mesa boogie titan di?

This head delivers a very nice warm sound and very very thick. I know the reddi is very nice but how much is the difference?

REDDI rules hard but I don't think I'd get one for live work unless you're really committed to carrying around a giant 14 lb DI. Having said that, I know a handful of dudes who don't seem to mind it

I use mine when the location has a good PA. Otherwise I'll just take my JDI or use my amps DI.

The Reddi feels light as a feather compared to the SVT it's sitting on! In all seriousness, the Reddi is the best sounding DI that I have ever used in a live situation.

All the sound guys around here have done just fine with my Titan DI, and the sound I'm hearing is good.

Ive never personally used the titan so i cant comment on it but i do own a REDDI and lemme tell you....

I do my best to not leave home without. The low end tightness and overall color is something i miss when i dont take it with me.. I have a pelican-like case for it. (came with my buy on TB) People think im crazy for having such a big DI. But when they hear it all together... They understand...

Obviously the gain staging on it ROCKS in comparison to a passive DI. When i dont take my reddi ill use my JDI but thats in last option mode. I always travel with both... the only issue i have from time to time is with all of our fly dates... and the crappy airline workers tossing our gear around... the tube wiggles out of place..(but not completely loose) so all i have to do is open it up and reset it. I want to install the thin wire piece that most tube amps have for their tubes that keep them in place. Doin that would solve the ONLY issue i have with it as of now.

since alot of us all have the same REDDI.. i decided to give mine an aesthetic upgrade. HAHA! the product of boredom, too much creativity for my own good and 3 mess ups..... I came up with this....

Other than both of them being great DI's, they don't compare at all.

JDI is small - REDDi is big
JDI is passive - REDDI is active
JDI has a jensen tranny - REDDI has a tube
