Hello tb family. I will be going to my local Guitar Center on tomorrow Lord willing to try out a markbass tube 800 and a GK 1001rbII. I play a peavey cirrus 5-string usa maple model. I'm currently using a F2B alembic preamp and a crown CE 2000 power amp. I use an Eden 410 xlt at 4 ohms. I run it on the A channel of the power amp in stereo which is rated at 660 watts a side. i'm just in the need of getting a lighter amp. Also the alembic sound has worn off for me. I got it from a friend used at a cheap price so I jumped all over it. I have played thru gk heads before and were impressed but i have never played it through my eden cab. I will be taking my cab with me tomorrow. I call GC and they said that they have a used on for 499.99, they have a demo floor model with full warranty for 549.99 and a new one in the box for 729.99. the economic side of me is saying go for the demo with the warranty but we all know that the demo models especially at GC can get abused. I have no experience with markbass at all. does anyone here by chance have a markbass eden cab setup or a gk and eden cab setup. if so how does it sound? please everyone let me know your opinions.

Hello again just an update. today I purchased a gallien krueger 1001rbII. I love the sound and the punch I get from it. I also tried the markbass little mark tube 800 and did not like it. It took too long for me to dial in the sound I was looking for, but with the GK I was able to dial it in quickly. GK and eden are a great combination.

good score. i like markbass' 500w little marks a lot but kind of iffy on the 800's. the gk's solid and dependable and has a tone that works. between the two i'd have gone with that one, too.

Got here a little late, but I was going to say that the 1001rb and the eden cab would be a great combo. I've never played them together, but they seem like a good fit. Probably set everything at 12 o'clock, zero the contour and the boost and you are off to a good start already. Dial it in from there, no fuss at all. I like those cabs. If they weren't such a nutbuster, that is probably what I would get.

thanks JimmyM and sleepytime for your responses. My experience with amp has been great so far. I pretty much did se everything flat and tweaked from there and it didn't take long to get the sound I was looking for. With the markbass head I couldn't get what I was looking for. I probably could have found a tone to work with but you shouldn't have to do that much to find a good tone that you like with any amp. I do love the Eden GK combo. Sunday will be my first time with it in a live situation at church. Sunday night I have rehearsal with the group that I play for and there I will be running my head into an Ampeg 6x10 cab. Oooooooh Joy!!
