Tone Hammer 350 As a Preamp/DI Unit
I have been looking into some new DI units and have seen some very high praise for the Tone Hammer 350. It appears to have the same circuitry as the pedal but with an added drive knob (probably replaces the AGS). Anyway, has anyone used this unit as a stand alone DI unit without a cabinet? I play with in ears every week and don't use a stage amp and was contemplating getting this as a preamp/DI with the hopes of possibly getting a cab down the road for different gigs. The tone hammer DI unit appears to be backordered by everyone... there are eBay sellers who claim to have it in stock but those guys take your money and then e-mail you 5 minutes later saying they don't actually have it even though they say they do... enough of that rant.. I was just checking to see if anyone has used this head in that capacity and if so, how did it work out? I am very intrigued by the Tone Hammer unit. I am basically an ampless bass player who currently uses a VT Bass Deluxe direct with Shure SE425 in-ears.
