I forgot to mention, I switched today to 12's from 10's. Granted the GK neo 410 may not be the best 410 ever made but it gets decent praise. The 412 is better in every way to my ears.

I'm also sort of the resident sound guy and jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none type "tech" in our little band. Nobody has any problem at all with me messing with their gear or instruments. I'm either fixing something, making the sound better, or otherwise doing something beneficial. I suppose you could call that a sort of "blanket permission" to mess with stuff, but I don't ask, I just do.

I also appreciate rock-n-roll excess. I would much rather see a wall of Marshalls, even if most of them were fakes, than see some artsy motif and no amps......even if one could do ampless gigs.

Bottom line.....if someone is making me deaf, and they don't do anything about it...I will.

I shall enjoy music when I am an old man. It's their choice to give that up and instead hear some combination of nothing, and a constant annoying ringing sound.
If your band mates are cool with you adjusting things, there's no problem with what you're doing. I'm talking about what the other guy did by unplugging his guitarists' cabs without their permission or telling them. If one of my band mates did anything like that to my rig, they'd be instant EX-band mates.

Cheers!

looks like a discussion of wheel diameters.
My suggestion: tank-chains

No disagreement here. You're right on the mark.

Well, I made an overgeneralization in my last post, but yeah, I "get" the "Wall of Marshalls" look. I guess as long as the guitarist isn't convinced they can't get their sacred "tone" without a full 100W JCM900 stack blasting the **** out of my eardrums and blowing out everyone else in the band at full volume, I don't really give a damn how much gear they bring to the gig. Sometimes over-the-top is called for.
