Took the plunge! fEARful 15/6/1 and fEARful 12/6/1 on the way!!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
All right, the GAS got me. I'm building a 15/6/1, and I bought a used 12/6/1 from TBer Philonius. As an Eden 410XLT guy for about the last 15 years, this is gonna be pretty exciting to see what the fEARfuls can do. I've probably bought at least 15-20 other cabinets since 1996 and none of them bested my Eden 410XLT.

Can't wait. Both should be here next week!!!!!!

As others have told me prior to me finishing the build of my fEARful 15/6..."It's gonna take a while to wipe the smile off your face."

Congrats. Be sure to write up a review (although I have an idea what you'll probably say ).

The 15/6 alone is killer. Adding a 12/6 to it? Wow. Cool for you!

Thumbs up

Thanks Tom and Sundogue.

I don't plan on using them together. I have a fair amount of small gigs where the 410XLT is overkill and my former 210XLT just didn't cut it. I don't see the fEARful 12/6/1 filling that void, but I'm hopeful!!!

You may not plan on using them together, but after hearing (and feeling) them, you may very well use them together once in a while...just because you can.

My fEARful 15/6 sounds so tremendous that I can't imagine adding yet another fEARful cab to it...but I'd sure love to try a 15 Sub under it...just for the heck of it.

Always love seeing that pic.

How often do you use the two together Tom?

So far, only once in a gig situation. I'm debating between using those two cabs this weekend or using a Glockenklang 6-Box. I'll be test driving the Heart-Rock II for the first time, so I may go all Glock. Then again, that Heart-Rock II should be a great head for the fEARful stack. Decisions, decisions...

I wish I had the ability to make those kinds of decisions.

What would you call your collection of cabs/heads...a harem?

I love that picture too Tom!

Do you find the 12/6/1 works as a stand-alone box??

A lot of guys are using 12/6's as stand alones. You may be surprised at what you con do with one...you're still measuring by the old production cab measuring stick and not by the fEARful yardstick. But then, what do I know. I show up at coffee house gigs with my full rig.

With enough watts, a fEARful 12/6/1 will perform about even with a 410 and regardless, it will completely blow away any 210.
