Trace 2x15 cab help Can anyone tell me which model this is...and your opinion of it ? Is this one of the "good" Trace cabs ? Apparently it is approx 15 years old and 400 watts ![]() |
Try the Trace Club thread. |
I'm not familiar with that era. I think it's a bit older than my 1994 single 15. Possibly it's actually newer from when Gibson took over and did the red stripe thing again. It would be a 1524 or 1528 depending on the impedance. If it's still in good shape it'll blow away accoustic drums no problem. |
Lacking the moulded port tubes I'm thinking it's more like mid 80's. |
And racing stripes place it to be fairly old which means yes it is a good trace cab. |

Any info on these ? I'm having a hard time finding any info on them. Size, weight, what speakers etc |
I think he's off. As fas as I know Gibson kept the molded port tubes which went through the grill so you can plug and unplug for fine tuning, then Peavey went to slots. Have a look through the Team Trace Elliot and Team Trace Elliott (sic) II threads. There is also "The" Trace Elliot Thread. By rights it'll make a big glorious bass sound something like my 1518 in tone, but very heavy, 610 wide 430 deep, not nearly so tall as 2 of mine, maybe 1m? Probably 120 to 130 lbs, my 1518 is 90 something. |
