Hi, I need to upgrade the old homemade 115 cab. It is for my second band in different rehearsal room, my main cab is Berg HS410. It will be powered by Mesa Walkabout head, used as standalone 115 cab.
There is the older (2001) Trace Elliot 1153 cabinet in the local ad for cheap.
I was all set to go for it, but yesterday I found the "summer sale" of the new 115 cab with Kappalite 3015. Made by local cabmaker Hocke (I would say, the equivalent to the LDS in the US). This would cost about $170 more than the Trace 1153.
The question is - is it worth to go for the new kappalite equipped cab, which I don't know how it is designed or how it will sound, or stick with (tombowlus recommended) proven 1153 trace elliot?
Weight difference - 20 kg Hocke, 27 kg TE - not too dramatic.
