Trace Elliot Amp

Anyone seen one of these before? Have any experience with one? It looks like a good deal to me but it's a fair old way to drive.

I had a setup almost exactly like this for a short while very recently - only sold it because I didn't need two rigs and my GK Neos are waaay lighter! Would absolutely have kept it if I could.

The AH250 is a terrific amp - love the sound, and it's VERY LOUD! The 250W rating doesn't do it justice. Big, round sound and the EQ and the tone shaping switches make it extremely versatile. The mid-scoop switch on this amp is to die for.

The ad doesn't say what model the cabs are but the 410 looks like a 1048T - again a great cab. The TE 1048 was one of the earliest 410 models manufactured, and it's a big, heavy tone monster. Handles the low end exceptionally well and is tight, articulate and punchy.

My rig had a 1153T which is a more compact 15" cab than that one in the ad. But IMO there are no duds in the classic TE range.

If you have the chance, grab a bass and drive over for a look and a try out. Take a good size car though - I guarantee you'll be coming back with the rig!

Brilliant, thanks alot for your reply.

If i get the chance, i will try and get a look at it. I'm a good 5-6 hours away though so might not be possible.

If not, i may look at getting just the amp (brand new or used) and picking up a couple of 10" speakers from my friend.

I have that amp x2 basically, the AH 500X which has two 250w halves. It is terribly loud for the wattage rating, and the preamp is awesome.

However if you are interested in that amp, you'd have to pretty much get THAT amp. The one you are looking at was built in 1989 or maybe 1990 so they aren't sitting in every shop anymore.
