Trace Elliot: Mixing 15 Cabs?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have one for the Trace Cab experts: I have an 1153, and have been using it with a 1048, running 'em with a MK IV AH250.

I really would like to have 2x 15s, and I wonder what the 1153 with a 1518 would be like as a stack? Would the two cabs be poorly tuned if run together? Would I get some phase or frequency cancellation? Or would it be stupendous?...

Discuss?...

You could try it. Just don't try to fix anything weird by boosting with EQ. You'd just get more of the same cancellation.

Fwiw, which isn't a lot, I stacked my 1518 with another borrowed cab which was almost the same size but not a trace. It really rocked the joint. No doubt there was some destructive interference but I sure didn't notice it.

I just don't want to find myself fighting the amp/speakers for stage volume. But right, nothing's perfect- the 15 and 410 I'm sure have issues as well, but I don't notice. I'm probably used to it...
