Exclamation Trace Elliot Question!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I just recently purchased a Trace Elliot Commando 12. It's 100 watts and has an output jack. This may be a stupid question but is this enough power to power a 1x15 or 4x10 cab?
Thanks in advance for any help!

You can power any cab with as little as 1 watt. It won't be loud, but it'll be "powered."

The risk is going OVER the limit of a speaker, in which case you can tear it to shreds. For example, if the speaker in your cab is rated at 300W, that means it will take 300W for the voice coil to melt...but you can tear the speaker before that I believe (correct me if I'm wrong TB techsperts). You can throw 100W at it in that case and it's perfectly fine and good though...make sure you find out what's in your cab though.
