Trace Elliot Replacement Speakers
i am looking for replacement speakers for a Trace Elliot 7210H 2x10 rated 300w 4 Omhs.
I can't find the standards which are 100w 16 Ohms each (Celestion spl designed).
My question is: Is it safe replace them for some more powerful speakers like 150W or 200W in the same 16 Ohms, and then i intend to connect a 1x15 8ohms cab with it.
Will i have any loss of impendance or damage some of those devices?
What is the best modification in this parameters could be done to get more volume with safety out of this mini stack?
Thanks a mill
British Audio Service caries stock and NOS Trace Elliot parts and speakers.
If they don't have it on the webpage... CALL and ASK.
They can usually get it.
You can add another 8ohm cab safely.
1028, 1048, 1518, 1153,1528 cabs will work.
as long as you use another 8ohm cab.
That will give you a 4 ohm total load.
The amp has a 4 ohm minimum load requirement. If you go less than 4 ohms, you will damage the amp.
if you have a 2x10 cab and you put another 2x10 cab under it (since yours is a combo) you will increase your volume AND get an extra 6Db gain - FREE.
it's Physics on the free gain ... don't ask.
You would have to double your output wattage to get a perceptible increase in volume - more expensive to do.
