Is this trade worth it for me?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone,
I need advice on whether or not this trade is good for me or if I should keep my equipment. The trade is my Hughes and Kettner BassBase 400 and Ampeg 410HLF cabinet for an Ampeg BA115hp and $150. My cab new is $700 or so and it's in good condition with some tearing of tolex, and the other Ampeg sells for $500 new and looks to be in good condition. I love my H&K to death but I don't need 400 watts when all I do is play on YouTube and seldom in a band.
What do you guys think?

I'd hold out for more money. I think you're getting the short end of the stick on that one unless the money comes up another hundy.

Yup. Don't get cheated. Your 410 HLF is probably worth as much as the combo by itself.

If you really need to get rid of it, then do it. But just because you have more power than you need is not really a good reason to me. Unless you have WAY MORE power than you need. Like 1000W in a bedroom way too much. You can always turn the volume down. Worst case, if you really want more control over the volume, by a load for the cab. It can go inline and will increase your impedance so you have more play. But I don't think you should need that.

I'm not an ampeg fan by any stretch, but that 410 hlf is something special. Don't get rid of it. You will need it. Ampeg combo? Meh. Dime a dozen and sound like it. I'd stay put.

+1 to all above. Bad deal, don't do it. GAS is a terrible thing. This thread is proof.
