Trading a Markbass LM III -> GB Shuttle 9.0 : Would you do it?

I bought a Markbass LM III a while ago, nice amp and I can get clean, warm and fat sounds that I like from it.

I have a friend with a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 who wants to try something new and has suggested that we trade amps. I have not tried the Shuttle yet, but it seems like a nice amp with the tube preamp, parametric mid and 900W instead of 500W.

What do you say, good trade or bad? No money involved.

I currently play through a SVT15E, but I am looking for something lighter and smaller that can handle a 5 string, so I can get the proper cabinet for the Genz Benz 900W later on.

I did it. Except it was a LM II. And technically it wasn't a trade, but I sold it and ended up with an S9.

But it's purely a matter of preference. Both very nice amps.

No experience with genz but own a lmiii and must say,it is one well built dependable amp,can't imagine parting with mine.

I did that. Same as nutdog above, agree on all accounts.
And I have just the perfect cab for it.

The LMII was my primary amp for a long time - great amp. I bought a Shuttle 9.0 which put the LMII into backup role. Periodically I did an A/B sanity check and always went back to the Shuttle 9.0. I sold the LMII ... no regrets.

EDIT: And at an even swap I'd say it's even more compelling as the S9 is more expensive than the LMIII.

As much as I love an MB it's always good to try new stuff, especially when no money is involved.

If you don't like it you may be able to convince your firend to switch back.
