Bought a Bag End D210BX-D at a good price from a fellow TB'er and it arrived looking great. Not to mention it was packed better than anything I've bought before but...
The "normal" 10 lost it's magnet in shipping.
And on the way, it did some damage to the other driver. That's a missing chunk of magnet in the center there. F*** me. You can see more dings in it elsewhere too.
Ugh. FedEx claim awaits. I'm already talking to BE about replacement drivers but this thing is going to cost me a lot more than the 410 did.

/rant over | perhaps you can give bag end a link to some of the fedex/ups/air line damage threads.....if shippers with decent sized accounts start asking why their goods are not reaching customers un-damaged it might stir up some activity....

Anyways, replacement driver is shipping tomorrow and it should be functional by the end of the week. $120 + shipping. Damn, it better be good!
Thankfully the seller is just as ready to make this right as I am. |

My brother and several friends work at FedEx and can attest that it ain't about treating things nice. The heavier it is, the harder Sean (my brother) lobs it into the trailer.
I really wanted to see what the 12 10's of doom would be like before the Genz half finds a new home... I'm still stuck with 10 for now.
That is a mini fridge and a variac [unrelated] on the 610.

When magnets break or chip, they can change a lot. I would have gotten both drivers replaced. |

BTW, FedEx will *always* deny the claim the 1st time, hoping that many will not persue it. The shipper (not the receiver) has to appeal the "automatic" denial before you stand a chance of having the claim paid. |

| | Registered User | | | | | That sucks. All is not lost though. A couple of years ago FedEx trashed an Alembic power supply inside a flight case while in transit. Thankfully the bass was unharmed. I wrote them a polite, detailed letter and included a bunch of digital photos of obviously fatal electronic damage.
They paid list price for my claim (not retail or MSRP) and couldn't be bothered to claim the damaged item, so I sold it for salvage value. Lesson: the thorough and polite get paid.
Best of luck to you. Those are spectacular cabs. Just sold mine with a great deal of regret.

Because it would require a signature, I had it sent to my work address.
It didn't arrive on the day it was scheduled, so I checked the FedEx site when I got home. It said that delivery had been attempted...2 hours before I'd left for the day...but the business was closed.
The next afternoon I got a call from another business, several miles away on a different road, that a package had just arrived addressed to me.
FedEx had taken it upon themselves to "correct" the address and deliver it to someone else!

They don't deliver it when they say they will, and their idea of "attempting" to deliver a package is for the guy to just run up and slap a tag on the front door, without even ringing the bell. This happened three times. For one package.

I've bought a lot of items offline in the past few months and had no issue with FedEx, USPS, or UPS delivery. With this cab, the guy backed the truck down my little parking area and I helped him bring it to my door after he made sure I was home. He was so nice too. That makes it harder to be pissed. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
