Traynor DB300 or Yorkville Bassmaster 200?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I bought a Traynor DB300 for 675$ and I could buy a Yorkville Bassmaster 200 for 200$. Should I return the DB300 and just get the Yorkville instead?

DB300: 225W @ 8ohm in a 12"
BM200: 150W @ 4ohm in a 15"

Please help me make a good decision.

Thanks,

Matt

I haven't played the DB300, but I have played the Yorkville BM200. Don't like the Yorkville at all. Boomy and imprecise sounding. There's a reason those sell for cheap.

As far as tone goes, I have to admit that the DB300 sounds phenomenal. I'm just wondering if it's not "worth it" if I can get another amp which is close to the Watts rating for almost 500$ less?

last i checked yorkville was pretty boss
and your saving money. which i recommend you do considering its probably going to be a shorter period of time before you need another upgrade if you go with a combo

I had an old blue carpet Yorkville Bassmaster 200 that I really liked. I thought it was nice & punchy. In fact I felt it was superior to the more recent Traynor Dynabass 200.
I haven't actually played a DB300, but it will probably give you more headroom. If you're looking for the best bang for your buck Yorkie purchase I'd look for a used XS400 head. They can be found for cheap & are awesome heads with plenty of volume.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help guys. I decided to get the Yorkville, return the Traynor and wait for the perfect deal on a Yorkville or Traynor head.
