Traynor DynaBass 400H - Bass Head

Sign in to disble this ad
right now i own a GK 400RB-IV and I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to sell it and get one of these Traynors. i had a friend in a band similar to mine who toured with one of these he said it was good but nothing more than average. Im not expecting it to be amazing or anything i just want to get a better tone for my bass something a bit more grindy. So do you think this would be a decent head for a bassist in a heavy band?

I have the Yorkville version of this head. Same thing with some cosmetic differences & I love it. It's not a '73 SVT, but it's a great sounding, solid, affordable head. It's capable of nice clean tones & nice dirty tones.

And they can be had for a STEAL on the used market.

Yorkville/Traynor is the best kept secret in bass amplification.

Traynor/Yorkville gear breaks all the time. I've had them from multiple era's and I'm continually let down

I had several Traynor bass amps in the 60s and 70s. They were reliable, but the GKs I had in the 90s sounded way better.

Wow, it seems Shazbot has had some bad luck.
But the overwhelming amount of owners in my experience consider Yorkville/Traynor stuff virtually indestructible.

And they have quite possibly the best warranty on the planet.

I also had the yorkville version. Tone was nothing to write home about, not good, but not bad by any means. But to reiterate, you can get them for $2-300 if you're lucky.
