I cranked my mid knob up, left my bass around 11 o clock and my treble at about 2 o clock. Never put the gain past 12 o clock, got me a nice aggressive grind.

remember that it's a passive eq, so cut only. that being said, bass and mids at full; treble at 9 o'clock; range, scoop, and resonance knobs all the way down; gain at the first dot on the dial past 5. also, the bddi straight into the "power amp in" jack works fairly well too

Just plug in, turn on, and rock out! I was utterly unable to get a bad sound out of mine, and heaven knows I tried. (Honestly, I did, I was trying to sabotage a recording project whose artist was screwing me over.)

Just leave the 'Resonance' at zero and you should be fine. That, IME, was essentially a 'Suck' knob.

+1 - range, Scoop & resonance controls - all LEAVE ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apart from that I vary mine heaps for the differing room acoustics.

Using the numbers labeled on there: Mid 8.5, Bass 6, Treble 7, Gain 4.5~6.5 (occasionally 8 when I need it really dirty), Range between 4~7, Resonance 3 (though I'm still unclear on what it does). Occasionally use the Bright and Scoop button.

I just picked up my Traynor a few months back and I've only had been able to really crank it once and my experience matched what R. Laevinus said about everything sounding good, so this is some great info. Any chance you guys could share what cabs you're running with those settings? And also what style of music (rock/metal/jazz/polka/etc.) and what bass? Effects?

thanks!
-Joe

I ran with a Mesa Diesel 410 (EVs), play rock using a MusicMan Sterling, all EBS effects except for the tuner pedal.
