Trouble with Eden Nemesis combo

Sign in to disble this ad
So let me say how much I am in love with my Eden Nemesis RS410 combo... until it started dying on me. I'll be playing through it for 15-20 minutes, when the volume will quickly drop and it will go silent. I've tried different cable/bass combinations, but it keeps happening! Has anybody else experienced this? I know it's gonna need a trip to the shop, I just want to brace myself for what I'm in store for....

Never heard of a Nemesis combo doing this - and I've owned two of them, both the first generation "NC" series - an NC 410 and an NC 210; each one built during the first year of Nemesis production - 1996.

The 4x10 I'd owned since I bought it new in 1997 and finally sold it off only a few months ago. I picked up the 2x10 on the aftermarket only about 3 1/2 years ago. Both amps have been absolutely reliable, with never a bit of trouble.

Good luck to you in getting yours sorted out...

Just to clarify, I switched out all the batteries, cables, etc, all to no avail. I did notice that sometimes I will only get a tiny little bit of sound when turn it on, and I will have to unplug my bass and replug it (on the bass end... doesn't work when I try it on the amp end) before I get sound. Also, it will start to crackle before it dies out, giving me a 10-second warning. I check the back of the amp, it's not overheated, but I did notice I did not have the -12db switch turned on (both my basses are active). I wasn't driving the amp hard at all, but could I have fried something by forgetting to use that switch?

First off, you should never unplug anything with the amp on, it will damage your speakers and is maybe part of this issue?

You should rarely ever even have to use a -12db pad with ANY bass.

it's most likely cracked cold solder joints, or the filter caps have gone bad.. take it to an Eden authorized tech..
