Trouble with GK MB212?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just saw something that aroused my curiosity. I was on Musician's Friend site, and pulled up a used GK MB 212. There were 5 other used MB212s listed, all in the 2-3 hundred dollar-range; listed as "condition 4" (needs repair, sold as is). All 5 models had the same malady, no output. Now is it just me, or does anyone else find this a little disconcerting?
I am always snooping around the MF used gear pages and have never seen a backlog of used , but non-working amps, especially for a relatively new model. Anyone have any insight to share?

Thanks
Jon

I thought the same but you also notice they have scuffs some of them severe denting on the grille. So it seems like they were dropped or something, which could be the cause of something inside breaking.

good point

True, I also read through the Mega thread and saw no mention of any similar problems, maybe I am just being a "chicken little". I really want one of these- that is why it struck me as strange to see those models.

One of them is probably mine. Worked great the first night and not so great the second night. Back it went.

There was a problem with the first order RMC Audio received when I pre-ordered mine. When they got them in they ran them through a little test. They worked for a minute or so and then started to distort. The second batch they got, which is the one I actually received mine from, didn't have that issue. So far mine has been running like a champ and sounds great. It may have been a bad bunch of them or something.

Same here...Erik @ RMC (good guy BTW) told me the same thing. Mine came from the second batch too and has been flawless.

I was wondering if a guy could buy one of the cheap defective ones from MF and get it fixed under warranty @ GK.

Hmmmm....Good question. It would be well worth it if that was the case.
