Trying to research my SWR Super Redhead...

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a first-generation pre-Fender Super Redhead that I purchased used back in 1996 - still going strong with the Goliath Junior II extension cabinet. I'm trying to get the background info on the amp - original manufacture date, etc. and emailed Fender with the serial number. They weren't helpful, saying none of the SWR historical info was transferred over. The serial number is 236 0043.....so, any guidance or insight is much appreciated. Thanks!

Open it up and take a look at the power transformer. Mercury Magnetics used to put a sticker indicating date of manufacture and that should at least get you in the ball park.
