TS9B into Sansamp RBI

Has anyone ever tried this?
I'm trying to think of possible ways to get an even smoother distorted tone.
Thoughts?

Not sure what a "smoother distorted tone" might be. Stacking gain stages will certainly add more gain, but smooth and distorted are confusing. Are you sure you're looking for distortion? Maybe overdrive instead?

I think the TS9 will be more likely to accomplish what you want hitting a tube preamp.

Try running one of your overdrives in the FX loop and one up front (and vice versa), or just see what kind of grit you can get out of your preamp and then run the Sansamp in the FX loop with a good bit of OD.

I find the Sansamp OD to be pretty smooth and fuzzy, maybe a dash poorly defined at high levels.

When I say smoother it's the high end I'm talking about really.
The high end can be a bit harsh even when the treble and presence knobs are dialed lower.
So I'm wondering if the combination of some overdrive and reduction in the treble from the TS9B will work.
The RBI is the only preamp I'm using though @chaosMK
