Tube Amp DI??

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi All,

I just aquired a Traynor yba1 50 watt tube amp,
it should be loud enough for a small blues type gigs,
i'd like to use a DI box for FOH,i'm thinking of placing
it after speaker Out between speaker In with XLR to
the mains, would this work, trying to come up with an
alternative to micing while maintaining that golden tone.

What i've described above would require using two
speaker cables one to line In>DI>Out>Cab with seperate
cable for XLR out>mains, would this work?

thanks in advance to your responces
Loel

Yes it will work, you need a DI like the Countryman Type 85 that allows for speaker DI.

Yup, nice amp indeed (1968) got it from an elderly
gent that also has another that is even older both
are unmolested unmodified cept for three prong plug..

Certainly going to look into the Countryman and Radial JDX.

Haven't had time to take pics yet, but it's just like this one.
