Tube Amp PSA; Red Alert!! New Conrad Sundholm TUBE Bass Amp

So this is the breaking news from Sundays FB posts:
Conrad Sundholm Former owner/builder of Sunn Amps is coming out with a new Tube head that will be 135 watts related somewhat to the Model T but a new take on it. I played one of his earlier Preamps a couple of years ago and it sounded great then it was tube also, but he has been tweaking it for some time. I talked to him recently and he told me about the amp and said the newest iteration of the Pre was the best yet. I cant wait to hear the head.

Here's a link to his web site but the new head isn't there yet. His tube Pre is there if want to check it out.

Let the gassing begin...haha I probably will get a chance to play it as he usually brings out new Amps for the locals to test drive.

peace, Kirk

This is very expensive news.

I've always wanted to try his pre. Good, to see he's keeping the Sunn traditional alive, albeit in a slightly modified form.

I would bet real cash it will sound great! The Pic or computer mockup is very similar to a later model Sunn's cosmetics.

Here is the link to Conrad's FB page. He does state that the head is clone of a first generation Model T. I'm not sure the pre is the new one or not. Scroll through the pics to see the mockup of the Head and a monster powered cab not to sure about the spkkrs it kinda looks like a 1x15 + 2x5 + 4x10s or something like that I sure wouldn't want to schlep that even with Neos. haha He does custom cabs more "normal configurations" too.

opps heres the link

Really, no interest. ...at all.....wow bumped for Conrad. Who is one of the nicest guys around. His tube guitar amps are right up there with a number of Boutique Builders. A bunch of local Guitar players have ditched their very expensive amps to get one of his.

Our guitar player has owned (and sold) many boutique amps (BadCats, Victoria, Tone Kings, Carrs, many Fenders, Fuchs, others). He's kept the the Conrad Blues Jammer though. Really good sounding amp for our style.

I will be interested in what Conrad comes up with.

Well, color me interested. Conrad is a fantastic guy to deal with, I had him go through my Sunn 2000s and bring it up to modern spec a couple years back, and I think I'll be seeing him again this summer to have my 200s worked on and my cabs refinished. I've thought about buying his pre-amp a couple of times, but I'm content with my heads for now. Super excited to see his take on the Model T, though I can't see anything in his Fb photos.
