| | | | Tube amp sound I am currently too broke to afford a tube amp, but i want to get the dirty sound of a tube amp eg an Orange AD200b or an Ampeg SVT. Is there anyway to replicate this without having to fork out the £1k+ for one of these? At least until i can afford it.
My current gear set-up is a Corvette $$ 4 string bass & a Trace Elliot GP11 through an Ashdown 4x10 cab. |

| | | There is
Try IK Multimedia Amplitube Free
Or one of the other modelers out there.
Great for practice and after you know what sounds you like you can then look for hardware to reproduce it.

| | | | a Tech 21 of your choosing (VT would be a good choice) or a Catalinbread SFT would be a great way to get a tube vibe on the cheap. |

Your bass, head, and cab probably sound as far from "vintage" or "tubey" as any components out there. So you are fighting an uphill battle in my book. But good luck anyway.
