Tube bass amp list?

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone ever compiled a list of all tube amps that are out there?
I mean, im not talking about EVERY tube amp ever...but is there any type of compilation or extensive list of tube amps that are/were available?

Hi.

I'm a somewhat a tube-head, but at least I haven't seen such a list.

A list like that would be pretty easy to put together though, a simple internet search would probably cover about 85% the said list.

If You don't mind me asking, why?

Regards
Sam

Made in South Aus. iirc 'WOOGIE' made a 3 or 400w valve beast.
All the others were '70's jobs- Vase, Eminar, Wasp, Holden.

The Coliseum PA was actually only roughly 120w, it ran the same power section as all of the 1000s series, including the 2000s. It actually was the predecessor to the 1000s series, and was jammed into the smaller 24" boxes, instead of the larger 30" boxes. I believe the 400w designation is the power it consumes? But definitely not the output power.

Malcolm Young uses Wizard amps along with his Marshalls. Never saw any bass players using them, but if Mal likes the guitar amps, they must be pretty cool bass amps, too.

ACDC used to use some of the Aus made valve beasts that I mentioned above. I've got pics of them using Eminar, Wasp, Holden, Strauss. As well as Marshals

I owned the 1235 and 1011.

Trace elliot had several high end models.
Sadowsky SA200
Aguilar (I forget the name)

Alembic (tube pres only based on the fender tone stack)

Musicman (Pre EB 70s models)
HD120
HD130
HD150
loads of others as well

Markbass makes a modern 300 watter with self adjusting bias
