Depending upon your power, price and tone preferences, the Ampeg V4BH, Traynor YBA-200, and Peavey VB-2 are all great options. Each one has it's own thing going on.

160 Watts @ 2 & 4 Ohms
Here is a video I did using an Ampeg 810E, Dan Electro Cool Cat OD, and Stingray Classic 4 -
(The camera's audio isn't the best, but, It will definitely give you an idea of available tone) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL4fqUiEzYw |

Yeah, the AlphaBass is a good clean tube amp. It's even better when you get one with an 810e for $400.
Yeah, I'm jealous of you for getting a good deal, even if I made it. |

Yeah, I'm jealous of you for getting a good deal, even if I made it. | Very true. I put maybe $20.00 in grille cloth and bought some bedliner. Cab and amp look 100X better now, also did some work on the head case so I can rack it. I love it, I am always sure to set the master to full then use the pre gain to set volume. You should hear the little guy with 2 810E's. It has the perfect amount of power for my needs. My 300T and SVT may be coming up for sale very soon. It has alot to offer for such little price... |

Anyway, that's as good as any & I used to use a Bassman 135 and it worked until my guitar player got a V4 and 412. |

Anyways, that is not a sound that the AlphaBass can do in my opinion. An SVT or V4B will get you on the right road for sure. I put my SVT-II to 10, plugged in a P bass, and played on my 610 and it was sick. I see why people love 'em for it. It's just not my tone and that's why I sold it. I do like the tones, don't get me wrong, it's just not me. |
