| Tube preamp/ power amp pre amp

Hey guys, I'm currently running an SWR SM500, through a Mesa Boogie 4x10 Diesel. The amp is bridged so I'm running 4 into an 8ohm cab. I'm thinking of trying to run a stright up power amp with my Line 6 Pod Pro. I will continue to run the Diesel 4x10 and probably a Diesel 15 with it. When I daisy these together that should be 4 ohms? Any thoughts on pros and cons of a power amp and Line 6 for the pre? I dont ever read anyone doing this on here so that kinda throws a flag to me. Let me know your thoughts please....
