Tweaking the low end

Sign in to disble this ad
I use a GK 800Rb, with a Yorkville Xc115, I'm playing a MM Bongo bass. I need to get a little more bottom out of that set up. Would I get a better response tweaking the bass or the low mids? My problem will be taken care of in a few weeks, if I can get this Eden 410XL(used) cabinet, but for now I have to work with what I have.

Placement of the cab can help with perceived low end. Up against a wall or in a corner may do the trick for know.

Cutting the higher end and increasing the volume may give you more low end than turning up the bass and low mids - take way what is there rather than add what isn't.

Getting the 410 will solve your problem, a single 15 will only get you so far. In the meantime, work with what you've got, try bumping the mids, see what it does. You can always turn it back down if it doesn't sound good.
