Tweeter/horn question

Anyone know or have advice on how I can tell if a horn in one of my cabinets is shot? I have 2 matching GK mbx 4x10s and usually leave both horns turned on. With the horn on in one cab there's a background hissing sound, while with the other one there's no distinct difference. Does this mean that one might be blown?

Also wondering if I should even use the horns? Using both cabs together it seems I get too high of highs even with treble turned down quite a bit

The one you hear the hiss from is working. If you are getting too much high end for your tastes, turn the horns off. No harm!

No trouble. That horn is a piezo horn and they are more harsh sounding than a dynamic horn IMHO.
