Convince me either way. My Shuttle is ready for some home grown love.

Be as technical as you can. I got space in the brain somewheres to soak it up.

In short I prefer 2-2x10's because it is more modular and able to vertical stack. For detail see these threads.
(2) 2x10 cabs VS (1) 4x10
Sound of two 2x10's vs one 4x10.
4x10 vs two 2x10's??

I have the Uber 410 and let me tell you it is a killer cab. I use the Shuttle MAX 12.0 with it (plus, the Uber 212) but, for a stand alone 410 it is very aggressive sounding and cuts extremely well. It has really nice lows but not boomy. The mid presence is outstanding and the highs are not harsh at all. You can add more sparkle with the 100 watt tweeter via the level control on the back panel. The build quality is awesome as well. Plus, you get the benefit of wheels with the 410 cab. Tilt it back and off you go!

I have no experience with the Uber 210s. I was thinking of getting one to try with the 212 cab for smaller shows. But, I will say if you are thinking of a great cab to go with your GB head, the Uber 410 is the way to go.

Try one out. You will not be disappointed!

@ SteveC - Ive seen him do the vertical thing, but not stacked..he would have a gap between the 2 cabinets. Theres some youtube vids of this type of setup, he may have been using 212's , but its worth an experiment at least once onstage.

Also Richard would tilt the cabs slightly...

Been playing bass a lont time and the vertical idea is still kinda new to me...

I'm playing 4 strings now so I haven't heard a 5'er through them. But, I do use a D-Tuner and it handles drop D with ease. I am confident that a B string would sound just as massive!

My Uber 410-4 is my main cabinet, paired with a Shuttle 9.0. I've never been happier with a rig.

Don't leave out the Uber 212. I actually prefer it to the 410, though it's not quite as loud.

Well....as far as volume of the 410 vs. the 212 is the decrease very noticeable or just sorta norticeable?

Volume loss is one thing..but a B string that is invisible is another. Ill go with a little less volume any day because I am on the B alot. Options options options.

Unscientifically, and judging with only my ears, I'd say the 212 gets approx 75-80% of the volume that the 410 puts out. Not sure which is tuned lower, but I can certainly vouch for the 212 having plenty of guts down low, and lots of punch all the way through the midrange. The Ubers are a very different kinda cab, not really modern, but not really vintage either. A good blend of the both, to my ears. I switched from mesa Powerhouse cabs to the Uber, if that tells you anything.

I am familiar with Mesa cabs. Not a fan of those, the overall tone is not bad, but I noticed the small 15 and the 410 did not handle the low B. I didnt own them, but I would sit in often with a particular group and those were the bassists cabs. They had punch and good note definition, but Low B to Low E Flat..was not there at all.

As long as the cabinet more or less gives me the open tone my pickups get, im happy. My main axe is a Lakland that has some mods and I dropped it off to Carl this morning for some cool stuff. =)

Okay I think I can get my answer with this question : If I have brand new strings, with pickups that give me that, pseudo fretbuzz, Doug Johns type tone...wich cab gives that with Low B responce too?
