Talking Um, I just bought an NV412

It was a price i couldn't say no

Will have to flog one of my Berg AE210's to fund it but i think it will be worth it.

Will a LM3 be enough to power it effectively?

The LM3 will sound decent, but if you want to really open it up, you'll need something more powerful.

Thumbs up

Congrats!!

I'm still thrilled with my NV610, but I'm dying to try an NV412 to see how it compares. A fellow Marylander has one, but I haven't yet had a chance to try his out.

I must be old skool. 500W sure seems like it should be plenty to me.

But, I totally agree with Mingusbass! I'm driving my NV412 with a Crest Audio CA6, mono. The bergantino cabs love to be driven hard!

thanks for the replies guys. I pick it up Wednesday.

Can't really see why i would need more than the LM's 500 watts but i take you points about opening it up.

The LM3 drove my 2 x AE210 stack very nicely. Looking for a less hifi sound and think this may be it.

My NV 412 sounds good with a 200w mesa boogie D-180 or a 440w Glockenklang head so no worries. Enjoy it. Cannot imagine what it would cost to ship one over the pond though lol

Why didn't you flog the other AE210 for the matching NV412?

cos i don't have a 2 ohm capable amp

But to be honest it would be overkill for any gigs i do. The 210 stack was a bit overkill so the NV412 is huge overkill but will look cool and scare guitarists

What was the price of the 412 anyway?!

I want a 412, but I'm really leaning towards the Aguilar... mainly because if I were to go Bergantino, I would look for a 610 or a 215.

The LMIII will drive the NV412 just fine. However, that cab really shines with a head that will get a little grindy. If you can pick up a Laney Nexus for decent cash, that would be a great matchup (at least the all-tube Nexus would - I didn't play the SS version).

Grats on scoring a great cab!
