unhooking a tweeter

ive got a 1x15 bass cab i like overdrive distortion,my cab doesnt have an option too turn off the tweeter,would it be ok too just unhook it?

It depends on what sort of crossover is being used.

If you don't know the answer to that, then it would be best to go into the cab, disconnect/unsolder any/all wires from the input jack(s), and wire the fifteen directly to the input jack(s), with nothing else connected to those wires.

cheers,just checking didnt wanna hurt anything by getting rid of my fizzy tweeter.
