Unidentifiable Buzz on amp

I've had my Markbass TA501 for a little less than a year now. I've been powering it through the same outlet for most of that time, but recently I started getting this nasty buzz whenever I put the gain up. It's barely at the 12 o clock when I start hearing it and I can't control it without putting the volume down. I tried several other outlets, but nothing has helped. Also, I saw a spark one day when I pressed the power switch. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but maybe someone can help me out.

Someone can...a tech my friend. Take it to the store you bought it from and have it warranty'd if possible.

Understood. I reread my post...sorry if it came off as flippant, it wasn't meant to be. Well, contact the Tber, see where he got it from, perhaps then you can go there if it's a GC for the warranty. See if you can get a receipt from him.

+1 either back to GC or in to an amp tech. No other options really.

No problem. I didn't really take it that way. I was just looking for any practical things I could try before I take it out to a tech. I'm relatively new to amps and the only things that I heard that could help an amp buzz are switching outlets. I was wondering if there are any other little things I could try like that to try to fix it.

If it's doing something now that it didn't used to do then something is wrong with it, internally. External fixes won't work.
I assume you haven't changed your bass. Most noise issues are from the instrument, not the amp.

Actually, I was playing through an older bass of mine. It's an ibanez atk700 and I've had it for 5 years now. I was using my mtd a lot, but I thought I'd give the ibanez a try since I haven't played it in a while. I don't have my mtd with me so I can't really compare, but since you mentioned that, I guess it's potentially my bass. Thanks
